Grand Funk Railroad - E Pluribus Funk (1971)

The fifth album from this band from USA.

The band was a trio on this album with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, organ, harmonica and vocals.

A symphony orchestra helped out the band too.

The band was touring the Americas and the world inbetween recording and releasing albums. The band was and still is mostly a band with a pretty huge following in USA & Canada and next to no following outside North America.

Their music is still very influenced by a British band....... Led Zeppelin. Then again, Led Zeppelin did not have a typical British sound as they were so influenced by US blues and rock.

The music is on this thirty-five minutes long album is both hard rocking and pretty bluesy.

As the album title alludes to, the band wanted to move more towards more mature, progressive music here. Music from a symphony orchestra was added into their music. That did not add any more quality to their music.

The result is still a decent enough album. It is not as hard rocking as their previous albums. Neither is it any better than their previous albums. It is a bit different from their first four albums.
