Squackett - A Life Within a Day (2012)

The one and only album from this duo from England.

Chris Squire did the bass and vocals here while Steve Hackett provided guitars, vocals and harmonica.

They got help from six friends who provided drums, violin, viola, cello, double bass, programming, keyboards and backing vocals.

This duo were working on and off this project for a very long time before this album was released. Two good friends from two of the most influential prog bands of all time; Yes and Genesis.

Chris Squire passed away some time ago so this album is a one-off album.

The music is a mix of what Chris and Steve did in their solo careers and in Yes and Genesis. Add some strong influences from Eastern Asia, modern pop and modern rock aka Yes under the tutelage of Trevor Horn.

The music is both melodic and full of interesting details. The vocals are really good too.

The guitars are also good and the bass is rumbling around as per usual from Chris.

This is an interesting and a good album.

Check it out.
