Snakes Alive - Snakes Alive (1974)

The one and only album from this band from Australia.

The band was a sextet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, keyboards, trumpet, saxophone, flutes and vocals.

A guest artist supplied percussion.

This band was a short lived band and this album was only released as a test pressing. Various bootleg companies has illegally released it again on LP and CD.

The music on this album is everywhere. From hard rock to blues, soul, fusion to psych rock.

The band took the music popular and developed in Europe and USA and ran back to Australia with it. They put this stew out on one forty minutes long album.

The album still sound like one recording and it comes from one band. The album sounds like a coherent unity.

The woodwinds are pretty cool here and so is the keyboards.

The vocals are OK.

This is a decent enough album, well worth checking out. A legitimate re-release on CD where the band get some monetary rewards for their work would be great, though......
