The 29th album from this artist from USA.
This album has been released under the name Neal Morse Band and the lineup is drums, percussion, bass, guitars, keyboards and vocals.
Neal Morse is back again and this time as a member of this band, a band named after him.
There is no choirs, no strings and no woodwinds here. The music is still epic, though.
The previous album Sola Gratia from 2020 was very much influenced by his albums Sola Scripture and the two Testimony albums. It was also inspired by the early Spock's Beard albums.
The same can be said about this album, Innocence & Danger.
This album is one hundre minutes long, one hour and forty minutes long. Most of the second CD is taken by the half an hour long Beyond The Years opus. A good opus.
Strangely enough, we are also being treated to a psych symphonic prog version of Simon & Garfunkel's classic Bridge Over Troubled Waters. A very peculiar version... but it works.
Neal Morse & the band is at times very playful and the lyrics is not particlar preaching or religious. They are very restrained, indeed.
The music is epic, melodic, playful and very much in the US symphonic prog vein.
The music is also very good and this is a Neal Morse album I will play again and again.
