Nautilus - What Colours the Sky in Your World? (2004)

The debut album from this band from Great Britain.

The band was a quartet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars and keyboards.

This band from Canterbury released two albums before they were disbanded. I got both of them and a review of their second album will shortly be added.

The music on this forty minutes long album is instrumental progressive rock. There are some Anekdoten, Landberk, Porcupin Tree and King Crimson influences here.

The music is pretty dark throughout this album and that gives this album and indeed this band an own identity.

It is rare to encounter an instrumental progressive rock album as dark as this. In this respect, you can add some influences from the avant-garde band Present too.

The music is both driven by keyboards and guitars. The quality is decent enough and this album, and indeed this band, deserve a lot more attention.
