The second album from this US band.
The band is a quartet with a lineup of percussion, glockenspiel, drums, timpani, tubular bells, piano, bass, guitars, organ, electric piano, marimba and vocals.
The band had some help from some guest musicians who provided cello, harp, violin, French horn, trumpet and banjo.
This band is a typical new US progressive rock band. They are highly influenced by The Mars Volta and Coheed And Cambria.
But that is not the full story. Add some David Bowie and Marillion influences too. Some of the music is vaudeville and theatrical rock. Alice Cooper springs to mind.
This is a very long album, clocking in at seventy-eight minutes. That is as much as you can pack a single CD with.
The music is bold, varied and melodic. The music is also good throughout although some may find it a bit on the radical side and too much of a mouthful.
This is an album well worth checking out.
