Vitamin String Quartet - Exit Stage Left (2002)

The one and only album from this band from USA.

The string quartet was an eight piece band with a lineup of bass, cello, viola and violin.

Yes, this is a string quartet playing some good old songs/compositions from Rush, my alltime favourite band.

This album and band was compiled by the normally quite sober and commercially driven record label Vitamin. My guess is that the owner is a huge Rush fan too. Me too was working on a Rush tribute album when I ran my own record label. That was long time ago.

The songs/compositions here is a mix of the obvious ones.... Tom Sawyer, Closer To The Heart and Spirit Of The Radio + some lesser known compositions like Broons Bane, Jacob's Ladder and A Passage To Bangkok.

Most of the album is a true replicate of Rush's live album Exit Stage Left. There is some omissions here like my favourite composition from that album, La Villa Strangiato.

That aside, these string versions proves how great Rush and their compositions was. It is a timely reminder to put the original Rush albums on again and just join these masterclasses in music.

The strings versions is decent enough but nowhere near as great as the originals. It is still an album all Rush fans should have in their collection. That is why I got this album.
