Roxy Music - Siren (1975)

The fifth album from this band from Great Britain.

The band was a sextet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, strings, oboe, saxophone, keyboards and vocals.

The band returned again after the success with their fourth album Country Life.

Siren is the final album of the classic Roxy Music setup. The band was breaking up and Bryan Ferry was taking full control.

The opening song Love Is The Drug became a hit single. Quite a good song with some reggae influences.

That song is the only one with overly reggae influences. The band had been pickpocketing other trends and styles for this album. Disco is one of the genres being pickpocketed.

Most of the music is quirky art-pop/rock though.

The quality and standards has unfortunate taken a dive after Country Life. But not by much. The quality is still somewhere between decent and good. It is therefore an album well worth checking out.
