King's X - Tape Head (1998)

The seventh album from this band from USA.

The band is a duo with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars and vocals.

The band was now signed on Metal Blade, a label with extreme metal bands like for example Cannibal Corpse. Nobody had yet managed to figure out how to handle King's X and their music. Hence the meagre album sales.

I have never really understood why this band never converted their big status to selling millions of albums. There is something fundamental wrong with this world, this planet.

The opening track says it all..... Groove Machine. It is a statement of intent for the rest of the album.

The music is groovy with some soul, funk, grunge, prog, blues and hard rock. It has strong Led Zeppelin and The Beatles influences.

The songs are all good here. This album is not as good as their first albums. But it still deliver the goods.

Check out this album if intelligent, groovy hard rock is your thing.
