The debut album from this band from Ireland.
The band was a duo with a lineup of bass, guitars, keyboards and vocals.
Some guests added drums, bass and lots of strings.
I have heard about this band and the well received first two albums for a while. Then I got a copy of their new album and decided to review all three of their albums this month.
The genre is symphonic prog. In this case, that means a mix of ELP, Yes, The Flower Kings and Wobbler.
There is a lot of Scandinavian symphonic prog influences on this fifty minutes long album. The band still maintains a healthy distance from the Scandiavian hordes and that is evident in the more cool and technical bits of this album.
The keyboards is very cool and the same goes for the good vocals.
The album has a thirty-four minutes long opus called Different Skies and two rather shorter tracks between seven and ten minutes.
The only gripe I have got is that the music falls a bit of a greatness standards in most cases. Nevertheless, this is a very good album.
This is an album all symphonic prog fans should check out and include in their record collection.
