Enslaved - Axioma Ethica Odini (2010)

The 11th album from this band from Norway.

The band was a quintet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, organ, keyboards, electronics, synths and vocals.

The band was touring extensive and then went into the studios again for this album. The band was and is very hard working. This is also a very honest band and one of those I have the utmost respect for.

They are true vikings in other words and the guys in Enslaved is the answer to the question how it was possible for vikings to conquer so many land and territory.

The band went on full attack on Axioma Ethica Odini. There is still experimental and progressive rock elements here. A massive amount of progressive rock, in fact.

The balance between clear and screamo vocals is still here and there is some good guitar solos too.

The most dominating factor here is epic heaviness. The one hour of music here is the most monumental heavy, crushing and epic music the band has ever done. It is also their most extreme album ever.

The result is an album full of details and weirdo melodies. It is also a good album. It is not an album for the faint hearted and those who like gentle music.

This is indeed another fascinating album from Enslaved, one of the most fascinating bands around.
