Abacus - Just A Day's Journey Away (1972)

The third album from this band from Germany.

The band was a quintet with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, guitars, sitar and vocals.

This band continued on after a not so impressive second album. The band did not have much commercial success either.

But the band played on.

The band's music is still early days symphonic prog. This time, there is a lot of krautrock and some funk and space rock in their music too.

This is a borderline krautrock album, indeed.

The band has packed in a lot of various ideas throughout these thirty-seven minutes. None of the ideas are particular good.

The vocals are decent. The music is guitars driven and there are some weird themes and solos here.

The music is only half decent. Ditto for the sound.

This is an album well worth bypassing.
