The debut album from this band from USA.
The band is a quartet with a lineup of djembe, drums, percussion, bass, guitars, grand piano, piano, keyboards and vocals.
Numerous guests added French horn, percussion, guitars, dulcimer, vocals and a full symphony orchestra
This band has so far released two albums and is widely regarded as the next big thing in the progressive metal scene and genre.
The band label their music as cinematic rock. Well, they have a point. Nevertheless, the music is a mix of prog rock and metal. The label "cinematic progressive metal" is the one we should perhaps use on this album and band.
The music is dynamic and at times pretty hard on this one hour and five minutes long album. There is a lot of instrumental pieces of music here. Still dynamic but instrumental..... and cinematic. Yes, I understand what they says.
The sporadic vocals are good and ditto for the many long and lingering guitar solos.
The result is a good album and one that makes me looking forward to give their new album my attention later this week.
