Zappa. Frank - Weasels Ripped My Flesh (1970)

The ninth album from this artist from USA.

Frank Zappa did the lead guitars and some vocals on this album.

He got help from numerous other musicians who added drums, bass, guitars, electric violins, woodwinds, piano, organ, electronics and vocals.

Frank Zappa and his record label had by now started to release some albums which was partially live and partially recorded in studios around the world. This according to where they were on tour at that time.

Frank Zappa and his band did a lot of touring.

The running theme here is avant-garde jazz. Well, more or less avant-garde jazz although it is pretty melodic and not as esoteric as expected.

The jazz here is pretty good. The sound is not that good and this three quarters of an hour long album feels a bit disjointed.

Nevertheless, this is a decent album but just that. I therefore cannot even recommend it.
