Flax - One (1976)

The debut album from this band from Norway.

The band was a quintet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, keyboards and vocals.

Flax was the first ever heavy metal band from Norway and their second album Monster Tapes is the first ever heavy metal album from this small country who later became a big exporter of heavy metal bands and albums.

One, their debut is a mix of glam rock, hard rock, heavy metal and some more blues rock. There are even some pretty strong folk rock influences here.

The vocals is good but the star here is the late guitaris John Hesla, a guitarist who unfortunate is a bit forgotten although he was a strong influence on Ronnie Le Tekro in TNT. The guitars on One is good.

The songs are all decent and this is not a bad album at all.

It is a debut album and the first of three albums from this band. I still rate this band.
