Simon Says - Ceinwen (1995)

The debut album from this band from Sweden.

The band was a quartet on this album with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, guitars, keyboards, piano, flute and vocals.

Two guests added keyboards and vocals.

This band is widely regarded one of the bands from the second wave of Swedish symphonic prog.

The band released three albums and they are all up for reviews this summer in this blog.

This album is one hour long. The music is a mix of neo-prog and symphonic prog.

Some parts of the album has this Swedish symphonic prog sound in the vein of Kaipa and The Flower Kings. The rest is more in the British neo-prog tradition.

The vocals is good and the band does a good job too. The sound is a bit thin and should have been more beefy.

Some parts of this album is very good and other parts are decent. This one hour of music is a bit uneven when it comes to quality.

The average says this is a good album. Barely a good album. It is an acceptable debut album but I hope the two remaining albums is far better than this album.
