Splink - Kozmosis (2022)

The debut album from this band from England.

The band is a quartet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, keyboards and violin.

This is a long awaited album, I have heard from the band and someone else. They have played Glastonbury Psych fest but nothing but singles has been released from them.

It was about time to release an album.... Although "only" a Bandcamp album.

The music is psych rock with some Jean Luc Ponty jazz influences and a lot of progressive rock influences. Add some Mahavishnu Orchestra influences too and you get this album.

There is no vocals here. Nevertheless, the violin has taken the vocals job and does it very well.

This three quarters of an hour long album starts with giving me the vow factor before it proceeds on to a bit gentler pace.

The music is both melodic and full of very interesting details. The album is a bit of throwback to the 1970s and a look forward to the coming years.

Please tell me that this band will release more albums and in the same vein.

This is indeed a very good album.
