The sixth album from this band from USA.
The band was a quartet with a lineup of percussion, drums, guitars, organ, keyboards, piano and vocals.
Two guests added bass and guitars.
The Doors was and will always be associated with the flawed genious that was Jim Morrison. A vocalist whose charisma shines through on everyone of their songs. Their other musicians was brilliant musicians and song writers. But they did not have that charisma and The Doors was all about charisma.
Jim Morrison was by now a fat alcholic. When this album saw the light of day, he was a dead alcoholic, succumbing to alcoholism in a seedy bathroom in a seedy bar in Paris, France. He is buried in Paris and it says alot about Jim Morrison and indeed the six The Doors albums he took part in that his grave is one if the most visited tourist attractions in Paris, one of the greatest cities in the world.
The music on this album contains of nine decent blues and rock songs and then the final, great songs ever to come from the band and Jim Morrison. Yes, it is Raiders Of The Storm.
Although the title track was a minor hit, it is not a good song. Neither is this a good album.
This is the final Jim Morrison album. The rest of the band staggered around for two more albums, both to be reviewed next month, before they gave up the ghost. Jim Morrison then got a sainthood status and Oliver Stone cemented this status with the hit movie The Doors.
This album is....
2.5 points
