Help Yourself - Strange Affair (1972)

The second album from this band from Great Britain.

The band was quartet with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, guitars and vocals.

Two guests helped the band out on vocals and guitars.

Their 1971 self-titled debut album was quite a revelation. Gospel, acid folk rock, psych rock and americana is a pretty unusual mix on one album.

Strange Affair sees the band refine and clarify their sound and output. What is left is a mix of acid folk rock and psych rock.

There is a lot of acoustic guitars here, backing up some good vocals. There are also some electric guitars, just to prove that this band is an electric band and not an acoustic band.

There are some good harmonies here. Both vocals and guitar harmonies.

The music may sound a bit dull and not much is happening here. But there is some interesting details and pieces if you listen carefully to the music.

The result is a decent, barely decent half an hour long album. It is not as exciting as the debut album but it still deserve some attention.
