Libra - Winter Day's Nightmare (1976)

The third album from this band from Italy.

The band was a quintet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, keyboards and vocals.

Hmm.... I have forgotten to do my detective work on this band. I was about to review their self-titled second album when I thought the music sounded familiar. Indeed it was. It is their English version of the newly reviewed Musica E Parole I reviewed last week. Hence, no review of Libra as it is = Musica E Parole.

Libra was their debut album on Motown Records. The first of ten albums, according to the contract. The band then delivered Winter Day's Nightmare to Motown Records. Both albums were flops. Both artistic and commercial flops. Hence, Libra was not asked to honour their contract. A Goblin like soundtrack album called Shock then followed in 1977 before Libra became a mere footnote in the history of Italian progressive rock.

This album is in short a soul, funk and pop album. It is a horrible bad one too and this album, this turkey, is best forgotten.

Avoid at all costs.
