Bloodrock - Whirlwind Tongues (1974)

The sixth and final album from this band from USA.

The band was a quintet with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, guitars, melodica, harmonica, keyboards and vocals.

Bloodrock was one of the bands who were highly inspired by the British bands Led Zeppelin and Who. Bands who became big in Bloodrock's backyard. Hence a bit of a national pride and "we too can do this."

At their best and with their original setup, they released some good hard rock albums.

The original members had left Bloodrock by now and so had their idea of emulating Led Zeppelin and Who. The band retreated into americana on Whirlwind Tongues.

.... And some progressive rock, too. There is a lot of Kansas in the sound and music on this album. There is also a lot of pretty standard americana rock on this album.

Some of the music here is pretty good. There is also some pretty bad stuff here.

This is not a bad swansong at all. It is indeed a decent album and well worth checking out.
