Radiohead - Hail To The Thief (2003)

The sixth album from this band from Great Britain.

The band was a quintet with a lineup of glockenspiel, percussion, drums, bass, guitars, piano, organ, synths, keyboards, programming, computers and vocals.

A guest contributed with tape loops.

The debate about this band being a progressive rock band or merely a pop act was raging in the progressive rock forums when this album was released. This blog, I, is not that worried about that. There is no doubts that Radiohead is one of the most imporant and groundbreaking bands on this planet since 1990.

Hail To The Thief is a blend of the concepts the band explored and released on OK Computer, Kid A and Amensiac.

There are some melodic stuff here and there are some trippy ambient stuff here.

The quality is as always pretty high although this kind of music is not my favourite kind of music.

Neverheless, the band delivers the goods and gives plenty for the brain to devour. It is therefore a pretty fascinating album too.

It is also a good album and one I recommend.
