Grand Funk Railroad - Survival (1971)

The fourth album from this band from USA.

The band was a trio with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, harmonica and vocals.

This band grew and grew, album by album. This in status and album sales.

The music on this album is hard rock. There are some stadium rock and blues influences here too.

The band always sounded pretty similar to Led Zeppelin and is more or less USA's answer to these British giants.

It is not a bad answer either as the songs are pretty good and there are some good guitars here. Their cover of the Rolling Stones classic Gimme Shelter is a good cover version too.

The rest of the songs, their original songs, those they wrote themselves, is pretty catchy and hard too. The vocals is good.

The result is somewhere between decent and good. It is an album well worth checking out.
