The debut album from this band from Norway.
The band was a quintet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, piano, organ and samples.
This band has so far released two LPs and Bandcamp digital albums plus two singles. I got both albums up for review this winter.
I have never really heard about this band before. They comes from the same town and area as Enslaved comes from. And that is the only thing these two bands got in common.
The music on this eighty minutes long opus is a blend of shoe-gaze rock, post-rock, ambient music and art-rock.
The music is slow... very slow. It still has a bit of these ebbs and flows from the post-rock genre.
There is a lot of piano here and some guitars. Mostly electric guitars. The music is performed to a good standard.
The music is surprisingly dynamic and pretty melodic. An eighty minutes long album requires a lot of details and interesting pieces of music is really hold the attention of the listener. This album mostly succeed in this respect. These eighty minutes does not really feel as long as on most other albums.
That said, there is no real great pieces of music here. There are though some ambient pieces here which makes the listener lose interest.
The result is a decent enough album and one well worth checking out.
