The debut album from this band from England.
The band is a sextet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, moog, mellotron, piano, keyboards, flute and vocals.
Ghost Of The Machine is one ex Nova Machine member and five This Winter Machine members.
I guess personal friendship and the desire to play together is the reason why this band was formed. The music is in the epic neo-prog vein and pretty similar to what This Winter Machine does.
It is actually a mix of epic neo-prog and symphonic prog.
The songs are pretty long and the vocals are good. The guitars are dominating this album and they have got some help from synths and the vocals.
The music is robust and bold. It is pretty heavy, make that epic and bold. It is typical British neo-prog.
There is no real outstanding great tracks here and that is my only gripe with this album.
This is a good debut album, made by some veterans in the scene. Only time will tell if we will ever see a follow up album.
