Thorne. Steve - Malice in Plunderland (2023)

The seventh album from this artist from Great Britain.

Steve Thorne did the guitars, keyboards and vocals.

He got help from three guests who added drums and guitar solo.

The seventh album sees Steve Thorne downsizing his sound and music.

The music is singer/songwriter pop/rock and most of the progressive rock has gone. The instruments are mostly keyboards and guitars. There is a lot of vocals too. This is an inexpensive way of recording music.

Yes, most bands and artists are downsizing after the Covid and living cost scares. I have noticed that on the latest albums I have received. Life is also hitting the progressive rock scene..... hard.

The songs are not that interesting and the music is a bit too run of the mill pop/rock at times. It has a familiar feeling and this album is suffering from a brainfog and lack of interesting ideas.

The result is a decent album. An album who should be a call for a reset in the Steve Thorne camp. Back to the drawing room and some time in the awesome, inspiring nature, me think is the solution.
