The band was a quartet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, keyboards and vocals.
A handful of guests added drums, keyboards and cello.
This album got my attention as it has been hyped as the next big thing by a lot of people I trust. Hence my purchase of this album.
The band plays a type of progressive metal, highly influenced by heavy prog and progressive rock.
Haken has been quoted as a big reference here and that comes across throughout this seventy minutes long album.
Nevertheless, this is not a Haken copycat. The band is from USA and that is obvious in their bold, epic sound and music.
The music is very varied and not always great. Most of the album is very good and we are here facing a new star in the progressive metal scene. This debut is a sensational debut album.
