Solberg. Einar - 16 (2023)

The debut album from this artist from Norway.

Einar Solberg did the keyboards and vocals here.

He had help from numerous guests who added drums, percussion, bass, guitars, strings, woodwinds, piano, samples, choir and a symphony orchestra.

Einar Solberg is the vocalist in the Norwegian progressive metal band Leprous.

That limits his room as a vocalist. Hence, this solo album where his vocals is pretty much dominating the whole of this seventy minutes long album. Vocals on par with and very similar to the vocals of Morten Harket in A-Ha. They are just a bit better than Morten Harket's vocals.

The music here is bold, epic art-rock with a lot of musicals and neo-classical influences.

These seventy minutes is so dominated by the vocals that several parts, if not the whole of the album, become a bit love/hate. I am not a big fan of vocals. I want a balance of music and vocals. There is none of it here. This album is therefore for those who admire vocals.

The quality is somewhere between decent and good. It is a more than acceptable debut album, though.
