My Dying Bride - For Lies I Sire (2009)

The tenth album from this band from Great Britain.

The band was a sextet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, violin, keyboards and vocals.

The band had been around for twenty years by now and they had not changed much. Yes, there had been the album where they flirted with grunge and stoner. But most of their output had been epic, slow doom metal.

That is also what we get here..... mostly. There are some flirtations with goth rock and more mainstream metal. The music is not overly epic and slow doom. The speed is a bit faster than that.

The vocals is mostly clean vocals and there are some violins here. The guitars are also mostly clean and in their usual sound range.

The music is pretty epic though and most of the songs and pieces of music is pretty good.

This is not one of their finest albums. Nevertheless, this is a good album.
