Help Yourself - The Return Of Ken Whaley (1973)

The fourth album from  this band from Great Britain.

The band was a quartet with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, guitars, keyboards and vocals.

The album title is a bit of an oddity..... A celebration marking the return of a bassist who were absent on one album. The art-work leaves a lot to be desired to as it is an one-off compared to their four other albums. Not impressive. Not at all.....

The band continued on. This time with a bit hard edged rock. Indeed, with some slightly hard rock incorporated into some psych rock.

The basis is psych rock but it is very hard at times. There is also some strong blues influences here.

A couple of the songs are borderline good whilst most of the music here is too much run of the mill to get the full attention of the listener.

The result is still a decent album, despite the change of direction. It is an album well worth checking out.
