The band is a quartet with a lineup of percussion, drums, bass, guitars, keyboards and vocals.
This band originates in Norway as the main songwriter and vocalist is Norwegian. The three other band members are from UK and USA. But it is marketed as an album from Norway.
The music is progressive metal. It has some djent pieces too and the music is pretty brutal at times.
Dream Theater is an obvious reference. But the music is far more guitars focused and far heavier than anything from Dream Theater.
The vocals on this one hour long album will get some raised eyebrows. They certainly gave my facial hair some work. The vocals is some of the best I have ever heard on a progressive metal album. And I have got a lot of progressive metal albums. Fredrik Bergersen's vocals has a massive range and they are also very powerful. I guess we will hear lots more from him in the coming decade.
The music is good and the vocals are pretty sensational. Hence, that makes this a very good album and album worthy of the hype it has created since it was released only a few weeks ago.
