Pohjola. Pekka - Pewit (1997)

The 12th album from this artist from Finland.

Pekka Pohjola played bass and keyboards here.

He had help from piano, percussion, strings, woodwinds, drums and guitars.

The quality of his last outputs had not been great. He had released classical music album and a more new-age album too.

There was a big variety in his output. He also worked with TV and movie productions.

Pewit sees Pekka Pohjola go back to his jazz roots.

This is a jazz album, first and foremost.

Some of the music is really heavy with a lot of very heavy guitar solos and riffs. There are also some avant-garde jazz here and some more melodic stuff.

The end result is an album somewhere between good and decent. I am not totally sold by this album. The first part is really good where the album tails off at the end.

Nevertheless, check out this album from this fine artist.
