Fairfield Parlour - From Home to Home (1970)

The one and only album from this band from Great Britain.

The band was a quartet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, organ and vocals.

The band was an offshot of another band, Kaleidoscope. That band released two albums and you will find my reviews of both albums somewhere else in this blog.

Both bands were folk rock bands.

Fairfield Parlour was not as much acid folk as Kaleidoscope. Fairfield's music is much more mainstream and a bit more americana than that.

There is also some pretty obvious prog rock influences in their music. Enough to give this band a good reputation in today's progressive rock scene.

The vocals is very good and most of the songs are good too.

There is a lot to enjoy on this album. That includes the keyboards who has this good old prog sound and feel. There are even some good details here.

This album is an improvement on the two Kaleidoscope albums and a fine album in it's own right.

It is indeed a good album and one to check out.
