Gilmour. David - About Face (1984)

The second album from this artist from Great Britain.

David Gilmour did the vocals and guitars here.

He had help from numerous guests who provided percussion, drums, bass, organ, piano, synths, woodwinds, backing vocals and a full symphony orchestra.

His self-titled 1978 debut album was a bit if a forewarning of how his daytime job Pink Floyd would sound on the likes of A Momentary Lapse Of Reason and Division Bell. It was also a good album.

About Face with the rather odd, and iconic, cover art-work/picture sees him branching out to the popular music trends of the 1980s.

We get some funk, soul, pop, rock and some ballads here. Some of the music is also leaning towards Pink Floyd too. There is a wide variety of music on this three quarters of an hour long album.

David Gilmour's vocals as per always great. The music sounds a bit dated. Some of the music here falls well short of an acceptable standard. There are some good pieces of music here too but there is not enough of them. Hence.....
