Zappa. Frank - Sheik Yerbouti (1979)

The 20th album from this artist from USA.

Frank Zappa did the lead vocals and guitars here.

Numerous guests added drums, percussion, bass, guitars, keyboards, clarinet and backing vocals.

This album is one of his most liked and best selling albums. It is a seventy minutes long album which contains a mix of studio and live tracks.

The collection of the tracks for this album is a bit haphazard. But somehow, Frank Zappa hit the jackpot here.

The music varies from puerile childish songs to doo wop, pop, funk, avant-garde rock, psych rock and jazz.

And most of the songs really works. The reason is that this album also includes some of his best ever songs. And mixed together with some less good songs, the listener forgets/forgive the less good songs and concentrates on the enjoyable, very good songs.

It is a seducing album, indeed.

The quality is all over the place. Nevertheless, this is a good album and well worth checking out.
