The fifth solo-album from this artist from Great Britain.
Tim Bowness does the synths and vocals himself here.
He got help from around fifteen guests who added their drums, percussion, bass, guitars, strings, flute, trumpet, piano, keyboards, programming and vocals.
This is his ninth album if you include his coop albums with the likes of Peter Chilvers, Richardo Barbieri and Samuel Smiles. I have not included these albums.
Tim Bowness is a singer/songwriter who operates both within this tradition and the progressive rock tradition.
There is an awful lot of his vocals on this and his other albums. Hence this singer/songwriter genre where he belongs.
Sometimes, his vocals is both underwritten and expanded by some good progressive rock influences. This is evident on the previous two albums.
Flowers At The Scene sees him withdrawing more back to the singer/songwriter genre. The music is not that expansive and complex.
That is a step backwards and this album is not as good as the previous two albums.
Nevertheless, this is a good album and one to check out.
