Dillinger - Dillinger (1974)

The debut album from this band from Canada.

The band was a quartet with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, guitars, accordion, flute, saxophone, keyboards and vocals.

This band released only two albums before they gave up the ghost. Two pretty influential albums and they are both up for review this summer.

The music is a mix of psych rock, rock, symphonic progressive rock and some hard rock.

So far, so far so normal.....

What is not normal is the use of accordion and saxophone. That adds some slight quirkiness and avant-garde music to this pretty hard, but melodic half an hour of music.

The music is not great though. The male and the occasional female vocals is good. There are a couple of good guitar solos and that is all.

This is a decent enough album and one to check out.
