Nexus - Insania (2023)

The eight album from this band from Argentina.

The band was a quartet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, keyboards and vocals.

This is the follow up album to the 2017 album En El Comienzo Del Topos Uranos. An album that did not hit the right notes and were all over the place.

Six years has gone and the guest female vocalist from that album has taken over the bass and has become the full time vocalist. The band is now fronted by female vocals. Good vocals indeed.

The album starts with a monumental, epic piece of symphonic prog before the vocals kicks in. A repeat of the previous album's music has been avoided....

The vocals and the music is pretty pastoral, but still symphonic. A bit like RPI. A lot like Latin and Argentine symphonic prog. A lot like the good, old Nexus.

This album is clocking in at thirty-seven minutes and it heralds their return to form. Something that is very much welcome.
