Flame Dream - Silent Transition (2024)

The seventh album from this band from Switzerland.

The band is a quartet with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, organ, keyboards, piano, flute, saxophones and vocals.

A guest added electric guitars.

This band released six albums in the 1980s and I reviewed their first three albums in # 2 of this blog back in May - June 2017. Their fourth, fifth and sixth album is impossible to find. They also got poor ratings by other reviewers so I have not missed anything.

I was very surprised to find a brand new album from this band in my inbox.

The band was regarded as a poor man's version of Yes when they were active back in the 1980s. I also compared them to Genesis too in my reviews of their first three albums.

The hour long Silent Transition sees the band returning to their Genesis influences. There are some Yes influences here too. But they are not as many as on their first three albums.

The music is mainly melodic art-rock with some good symphonic prog influences.

The vocals and the piano is very good. The other musicians does a good job with some good details and melodies.

The band has in this album managed to release their best album so far.
