Pentwater - Pentwater (1977)

The debut album from this US band.

The band was a quartet with a lineup of percussion, drums, bass, theremin, guitars, violin, flute and vocals.

This band from USA released three albums between 1977 and 2007.

I got their first two albums and they are being reviewed this spring.

Pentwater's music is a mix of what we can call classic progressive rock. That means everything from Gentle Giant, Yes, Kansas and Genesis. Add a lot of avant-garde and vaudeville music too.

The album starts very promising with some Gentle Giant influenced music.

We also get some Yes and Kansas here before the music enters some nodding off and dull avant-garde workouts halfway through this fifty-three minutes long album.

Then we get some ELP influenced music too before the album ends.

This album has a lot of genres and is a bit bewildering. That aside, the music is pretty good.

A decent to good rating is in order here. It is a bit of a hidden gem well worth checking out.
