Pure Reason Revolution - Above Cirrus (2022)

The fifth album from this band from England.

The band is a trio with a lineup of bass, guitars, keyboards and vocals.

A guest musician added his drums to this album.

This is the follow up album to the Eupnea album from 2020. An album I like a lot.

The band has moved towards and into a more darker, harder form of neo-prog on this album.

There are some grunge and techno feel to this album and the drums and rhythm feels cold and machine like.

There are some good guitars harmonies supporting the good vocals too. Ditto for the keyboards.

I guess this is the modern, post covid progressive rock sound as the sound feels alien and dissonant. That for a progressive rock fan like myself who has been on a staple diet of 1970s progressive rock and sound.

Alien is the word.

The quality is somewhere between decent and good. There are some really good stuff here. But there is not enough of this to make this a good album.
