The fourth album from this band from USA.
The band is a sextet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, cello, keyboards and vocals.
This band took a long break after their third album and there was talk of either permanently disband the band or a radical, a very radical change of direction.
To my surprise, the band returned again and with the same type of music as on their first three albums. The band has developed and matured a lot, though.
The music is hard prog with some quirky art, psych and goth rock influences. The music is also as bold as in the general mood of USA. Only a band from USA would dare to write and publish music like this.
The music is very hard at times and there is even some djent in their music. This album is still in the same vein as their first three albums and Shadow Circus has carved themselves out a nice niche in the heavy prog genre.
The quality is good throughout this album. An album it takes some times to get used to as this band is one of a kind.
