Pluto - Soundtracks for Inner Movies (1999)

The third album from this artist from Norway.

Petter Esben Guthe did the guitars, vocals and keyboards himself.

This album was lost for almost a quarter of a century before the people behind the crowdfunded NAK series in Norway discovered that this recording was around and got Petter's permission to release this on an own lost albums series earlier this year.

Petter Esben Guthe is regarded as one of the best ever Norwegian guitarists and the likes of Ronni Le Tekro from TNT, the most famous Norwegian heavy metal guitarist of all time, is among his admirers and ex pupils.

Pluto/Petter released music somewhere between Mike Oldfield and Camel on his first two albums. That very much is the case on this album too.

Take cinematic prog, Camel and Mike Oldfield and mix this together. Add some electronica and ethno rock too and you get this.

Most of album is instrumental guitars supported by keyboards and the occasional vocals. The result is pieces of music and not proper songs.

The result is a good album which has a good sound and ambience. We can only hope that this album reaches bigger audiences than those of us who are followers of Norwegian progressive rock.
