Orient d,Ô. L' - L'Orient d,Ô (1978)

The one and only album from this band from Canada.

The band was a quintet with a lineup of drums, electronic drums, percussion, bass, guitars, organ, synths, saxophones, vocoder and vocals.

Two guests added vocals on one track.

This band were from the French speaking part of Canada, the Quebec province.

L'Orient d,O were also a progressive rock band. It is therefore natural to mention the great progressive rock band from this province;...... Harmonium.

That is not far from hitting the right tone. Ange from France is though a much more natural comparison as this album gives us theatrical symphonic prog. Three quarters of an hour with theatrical French symphonic prog.

The vocals is very good and so is the music.

There is a lot of vintage organs here and vintage guitars too. The music is a tad folk rock influenced too. A bit influenced by Harmonium too.

This album is a true hidden gem from the symphonic prog scene and one to really seek out and enjoy.

Check out this album.
