Nolan & Wakeman - Jabberwocky (1999)

The debut album from this duo from England.

Clive Nolan and Oliver Wakeman did the keyboards here.

They had support from numerous guests who provided drums, percussion, bass, guitars and vocals.

Clive Nolan is mostly known from Pendragon, Shadowsland, Arena and his own solo career. Oliver Wakeman, son of the living legend and Yes keyboardis Rick Wakeman, has played with Yes, Strawbs and numerous other bands.

Nolan & Wakeman has so far released three albums. I got all of them for review in the coming weeks.

This album sounds like a concept album... and it is indeed a concept album.

The music is big and bold. Majestic and epic.

There is cascades of keyboards, guitars, male and female vocals throughout this fifty-five minutes long album.

The music is pretty hard, make that bombastic. There is not much time to breathe on this album.

The result is a decent to good album. Most of the stuff here simply fails to take off towards a level of good quality. As a debut album, this is an acceptable effort.
