ViaMedia - Bridge of Sighs (2024)

The debut album from this band from Norway.

The band is a duo with a lineup of bass, guitars, keyboards and vocals.

A handful of guests, including Jacob Lupo-Holm, John Mitchell and Craig Blundell, added drums, percussion, guitars, synths, flugelhorn, tarogate, saxophones, bagpipes, male and female vocals.

This is another prog rock act from Norway with their debut album this decade, the 2020s.. The Norwegian (prog rock) fauna is richer and more varied than the fauna on the wild prairie in USA or Mongolia.

ViaMedia's debut album, this one, takes us through a melancholic landscape somewhere between art-rock and neo-prog. The music is also flowery at times. The sporadic vocal harmonies are very good.

The music is melodic with some good vocals and musicianship. The music is also quirky with some Gentle Giant and Genesis vibes throughout this forty minutes long album.

The quality is good throughout this album.

I hope we will hear a lot more from this band in the future.

Check out this album.
